Job summary

Milliken & Company in Portage, Wisconsin is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep production equipment operational and safe. You will support capital projects, read PLCs, and perform electrical and mechanical repairs across the plant.

The ideal candidate has basic mechanical skills, process control knowledge, and experience with steam systems and confined spaces, with a willingness to work overtime when needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic mechanical skills with hand and power tools.
• Knowledge of process control, refrigeration, boilers and pumps.
• Experience with steam systems and confined spaces.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced plant.
• PLC reading and basic electrical troubleshooting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance tasks to keep production equipment operational.
• Work at high safety levels and coordinate with contractors on safety.
• Support capital projects to ensure maintainability and sound maintenance processes.
• Read PLC programs as needed and troubleshoot software/hardware.
• Maintain, repair and troubleshoot all plant equipment including electrical systems.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance.
• Participate in 5S and TPM teams.
• Assist in developing and installing new equipment or plant expansions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and on-call rotation.
• Be willing to work a flexible schedule and overtime if required.
