Job Summary

We are hiring immediately for a full‑time Maintenance Technician (Nights) position.

Location: TAMU – 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843. (Openings at other locations within the school district available). Online applications accepted only.

Schedule: Full‑time; Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 pm to 12:30 am. Full and part‑time positions with flexibility to meet scheduling needs.

Requirement: 1 year of prior maintenance and/or technician experience is required.

Pay: $16.00 to $22.00 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist in making decisions on normal and complex repairs; report major problems to maintenance supervisor and foreman.


• Construct, finish, install, maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems using hand tools and equipment.


• Clean, lubricate, service, repair or diagnose malfunction of HVAC, electrical, mechanical building systems and related specialty equipment.


• Supervise and lead a group of workers on a project.


• Read, comprehend and transmit detailed instructions verbally and in writing.


• Teach advanced maintenance skills to other department members.


• Review work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; make punch lists.


• Report on and repair discrepancies as assigned.


• Analyze and correct complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.


• Maintain logs, perform rounds and complete work orders, tests and inspections.


• Make recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.


• Serve as a member of the facility emergency response team.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.


• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.


• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.


• Must have one of the following: Master license in one trade; Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant; or a Journeyman Plumber License.


• Valid driver’s license.
