Job summary

SSC Services for Education is seeking a Maintenance Technician (Nights) for a full-time role at TAMU College Station, TX. You will perform skilled maintenance duties across electrical and mechanical systems, lead on projects, and ensure quality and safety in a campus environment.

The schedule runs nights Monday–Friday 4:00 pm–12:30 am with weekend coverage as needed. Requirements include four years of skilled trade schooling, five years of institutional maintenance experience, and a valid

Qualifications

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Responsibilities

• Assists in making decisions on repairs; reports major problems to supervision.
• Constructs, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems and related facilities.
• Maintains and repairs HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems and related equipment.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads and transmits complex instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to department members.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and licenses maintenance workers; creates punch lists.
• Reports on discrepancies and repairs.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, solo or in a team.
• Maintains logs, completes work orders, tests and inspections.

• We are hiring immediately for a full time MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN (NIGHTS)position.
• Location: TAMU - 600 Agronomy Road, College Station, TX 77843. (Openings at other locations within school district available) Note: online applications accepted only.
• Schedule: Full time schedule; Monday through Friday, 4:00 pm to 12:30 am. Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 pm to 12:30 am. More details upon interview. (Full and Part Time with the flexibility to meet most scheduling needs)
• Requirement: 1 year of prior maintenance and/or technician experience is required.
• Pay Range: $16.00per hour to$22.00 per hour.

Job Summary

Summary:

Performs a variety of skilled maintenance duties related to facility engineering and maintenance functions, while providing field leadership, ensuring quality assurance, supporting training efforts, and managing escalations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in making decisions on all normal and complex repairs; reports major problems to the maintenance supervisor and foreman.
• Constructs, finishes, installs, maintains and repairs electrical and mechanical systems, or the facilities of any related systems, using power and hand tools and other necessary equipment.
• Clears, lubricates, services, repairs or diagnoses malfunction of HVAC, electrical and mechanical building systems, sterilizers, sprinkler and standpipe systems, transport systems, electronic signaling systems, fire alarm systems and similar specialty equipment items with appropriate training, certification skills and licensing requirements as needed.
• Supervises and leads a group of workers on a project.
• Reads, comprehends and transmits complicated detailed instructions verbally and in writing.
• Teaches advanced maintenance skills to other members of the department.
• Reviews work of outside vendors and licensed maintenance workers; makes punch lists.
• Reports on and repairs discrepancies as assigned.
• Analyzes and corrects complex building system problems, alone or as part of a team.
• Maintains logs, performs rounds and completes work orders, tests and inspections.
• Makes recommendations for modification or improvement of preventive maintenance systems.
• Serves as a member of facility emergency response team.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Four years of skilled trade school or maintenance vocational schooling.
• Five years of experience as a maintenance technician in an institutional setting in an engineering or maintenance discipline.
• Two years of experience as a licensed Journeyman in the specialized trade.

Must have one of the following:

• Master license in one trade or two of the following Journeyman Electrical License or Registered ACR Technician with EPA certification in Refrigerant, or a Journeyman Plumber License, etc.
• Valid driver’s license.
