CLICK HERE to view our Maintenance Mechanic Job Preview Video Position Overview: Responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment. Inspects equipment for proper functioning and performs preventative maintenance according to manufacturer’s specifications. Diagnoses malfunctions and makes necessary repairs or adjustments. Must have own hand tools. The role involves work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals, with frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, and bending. Weekend and/or holiday work may be required.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform preventative maintenance on production equipment
- Repair all production equipment as needed
- Perform breakdown analysis
- Maintain general housekeeping
- Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
- Collaborate with outside contractors on assigned lines
- Change lines for package changeovers
- Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
- Work independently with limited supervision and document work activities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 18 years old
- Pass technical assessment on maintenance knowledge areas
- Experience with mechanical systems (gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings)
- Ability to read and apply product manuals for repairs
- Troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns
- Reading mechanical drawings (hydraulics, pneumatics)
HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
- Electrical systems (starters, fuses, relays)
- Compressors/ammonia systems (refrigeration)
- Conveyors and airveyors (air cylinders, sensors, controls)
- Electrical installation and troubleshooting (frequency drives)
- Electronics (level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs)
- Gearing and gear box rebuilds
- Hydraulic systems (pumps, valves, troubleshooting)
- Kinematics (line speed, sprocket ratios)
- Packaging/high-speed production experience
- PLC systems and troubleshooting
- Pneumatics and air compression systems
- Preventative maintenance with computerized charts/data
- Pumps (troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors)
- Schematics and electrical blueprints
- SERVO systems (robotic motors, encoders)
- Teamwork in a collaborative environment
