Job summary

Niagara Bottling is seeking a Maintenance Technician for night shifts in Florence, SC. The role requires at least 4 years of maintenance experience, where you will troubleshoot and repair production and auxiliary equipment.

Job description

Maintenance Technician – Night Shift

At Niagara Bottling, we’re looking for dedicated Team Members who want to help us provide our customers with the highest quality and most affordable bottled water.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure equipment uptime through timely, in‑depth troubleshooting and repair of all production equipment, including injection molders, blow molders, fillers/cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
  • Perform troubleshooting and repair of facility and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis systems, and other water filtration equipment.
  • Work directly with machine operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, and senior maintenance technicians to resolve mechanical issues during shift.
  • Propose solutions to complex and recurring problems on production equipment to senior mechanics and management.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Repair equipment, fixtures, and systems; modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment in accordance with Niagara’s processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems and complete required work order paperwork, documenting parts and material usage.
  • Adhere to plant safety rules, including safe lifting practices and safe machine operation; use personal protective equipment where required.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance to support equipment and facility uptime.
  • May fill in for a production operator as needed.
Essential Functions
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Modify, lubricate, diagnose, and operate equipment per Niagara’s defined processes.
  • Maintain industrial control systems, completing required work order paperwork and documenting parts and material usage.
  • Work independently and with other team members to complete repairs safely and promptly.
  • Use personal protective equipment as required and follow plant safety rules.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a field or similar maintenance environment, in the same position, and managing people or projects.
  • Experience communicating effectively across multiple departments and resolving issues.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
  • Skilled in using shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill, lathe, and assorted power tools.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment, including calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and depth gauges.
  • Willingness to serve as a technical leader and trainer within a specific area of the plant or machine center.
  • Must have own toolbox and basic tools.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 years of experience in a field or similar manufacturing environment and the same position, with experience managing people or projects.
  • Experience in high‑speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics industries.
  • Experience with variable frequency drives, servo drives, servo motors, rotary equipment, thermodynamics, heat transfer, or plastics processing.
  • Experience with Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment; HVAC systems including chillers and air compressors.
  • Skilled in fabrication capabilities such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, or Stick). Proficient with electrical systems including 480 VAC & 24 VDC power.
  • Experience repairing variable frequency drives, servo motors, controllers, communication systems (ASCI‑BUS, CAN‑BUS, Profi‑BUS, Ethernet), PLC I/O cards, and safety modules.

Education
  • Minimum required: High School Diploma.
  • Preferred: Associate’s Degree in manufacturing, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, industrial manufacturing, manufacturing automation, or a related field.
