Position Description
Maintenance Technicians will be responsible for maintaining proper functioning of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing maintenance requirements (both planned and unplanned) on production, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, packaging and processing equipment, utility systems, and following all OSHA and facility-specific protocols (including LOTO, Arc Flash, etc.).
Work Schedule
This position works 8-hour shifts, 7am-3pm, Monday thru Friday. Overtime may be required as necessary for the success of the team.
Job Tasks and Responsibilities
- Successfully perform troubleshooting on industrial automation equipment such as programmable logic control (PLC) and AC/DC drive systems.
- On call for emergency repairs in breakdown situations as necessary.
- Accurately read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, electrical schematics, service manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Accurately complete and document work orders promptly in CMMS to maintain high-quality standards.
- Maintain communication with other departments, management, and employees; notifying them of problems and/or concerns that may restrict production efficiency.
- Complete all paperwork in a clear, legible, and accurate format, including all required information and documentation following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Assist in maintaining parts and supplies inventory by checking parts out of inventory and assigning them to the proper work order, report low supply levels to Supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe work area, including maintenance shop.
- Abide by all safety standards and protocols set forth by OSHA and Pregis.
- Adhere to and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures as outlined at Pregis Films.
- Perform all aspects of the position to the highest quality.
Required Education and Experience and Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s or Technical School Degree in Mechanics, Electrical, Computer Science, preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- 5+ year(s) experience working as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing environment.
- Facilities Maintenance experience preferred.
- Able to stand for long periods; up to 12 hours.
- Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatics repair and troubleshooting.
- Experience with maintenance work order systems.
- Knowledge of welding and machining skills desired, not required.
- Must be able to understand mechanical, piping, and electrical drawings.
- Ability to operate a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment to perform duties.
