Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) seeks a Maintenance Technician to ensure safety and upkeep of Lucy’s Hearth properties, including on-site buildings and scattered-site apartments.

The role covers preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, safety inspections, and coordinating with contractors, while operating in family-centered, trauma-informed settings and reporting to emergencies as needed. Benefits include health and dental coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, facilities management, and coordination of contractors.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as carpentry.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair common building issues.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and respond in emergencies.
• Experience around shelters or family environments preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and travel between sites.
• Bilingual/ASL skills compensated by an additional 6%, above base pay.
• Multilingual skills compensated by an additional 8%, above base pay.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, functionality, and upkeep of Lucy’s Hearth properties.
• Perform preventative and routine maintenance; troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate with hired contractors and track work orders.
• Conduct safety inspections and respond to emergencies.
• Work in family-centered, trauma-informed environments.
