Job summary

Family Service of Rhode Island (FSRI) is seeking a Maintenance Technician to ensure the safety, functionality, and upkeep of Lucy’s Hearth properties, including on-site buildings and scattered site apartments. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, safety inspections, and coordinating with contractors.

The role requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, flexibility to travel between sites, and a commitment to working in family-centered, trauma-informed

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance and facilities management.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair common building issues.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between sites.
• Experience working in shelters or family environments preferred.
• Bilingual/ASL skills may be compensated.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on on-site and scattered-site properties.
• Troubleshoot issues and coordinate with outside contractors.
• Conduct safety inspections and respond to emergencies.
• Maintain confidentiality and work in trauma-informed environments.
• Report to supervisors and prioritize multiple tasks.
