Job summary

Alliant Energy is seeking a Journeyman Maintenance Technician to perform mechanical, electrical, and control maintenance at the generation facility in Wisconsin. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and inspecting equipment, logging data, and supporting safety and reliability improvements.

You must hold a valid Journeyman card in a mechanical trade and a high school diploma or GED. Overtime is optional, and standard schedule is 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and inspect equipment and systems at the generation facility.
• Operate and collect data from mechanical and electrical devices for diagnostics and work activity support.
• Utilize machine tools and hand tools as required.
• Operate mobile and heavy equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Perform welding activities.
• Support safety, reliability, productivity and continuous improvement efforts.
• Adhere to established procedures and safety practices.
• Perform shop and plant housekeeping and related duties.

Job Summary

Performs varied mechanical, basic electrical and basic control and instrument maintenance activities and other duties necessary to maintain the generation facility to which they are assigned.

What you will do

• Performs the mechanical and basic electrical and basic instrument and control troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various mechanical and electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Is proficient in the use of machine tools and various hand powered tools as job needs dictate.
• Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Performs various welding activities.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
• Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.

Work Shift & Hours

Standard Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday start time at 5:00 AM

Overtime Opportunities: Voluntary overtime is frequently available to support station needs and project demands; however, overtime is strictly optional and not mandatory.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Required Experience

Journey-level experience in a mechanical trade.

Candidates must possess a valid state-issued Journeyman card in one of the following trades:

• Journeyman Mechanic
• Journeyman Millwright
• Journeyman Maintenance Technician

Pay Range

$54.01 - $56.22
