Job summary

Placon Corporation in West Springfield, MA is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and improve high-speed production equipment in a food packaging environment. You will work with electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, including PLCs, control systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics, and perform preventive maintenance to support GMP and SQF standards.

• Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent with relevant maintenance experience.
• 2+ years in industrial maintenance or 6+ years of progressive maintenance experience.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder logic.

Maintenance Technician - Manufacturing Equipment

We're hiring an Industrial Maintenance Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and improve high-speed production equipment in a food packaging environment. This role is ideal for an experienced technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills, including PLCs, control systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and preventive maintenance while helping us maintain high standards for GMP, SQF, sanitation, and food packaging safety. Preference for 3rd shift candidates.

Compensation

Pay rate: $29.00 - $31.00. Team Members working the Night Shift will qualify for an additional .75 cents per hour shift differential.

Work Schedule

Training for this role is expected to take approximately 3 to 6 months on first shift. Regular schedule is Sunday through Thursday 11:00pm to 7:00am

What You'll Do

• Perform electrical, electronic, and mechanical maintenance on production and auxiliary equipment
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and repair equipment to restore safe, effective operation
• Complete corrective and preventive maintenance work orders on schedule

• Assist with the development of preventive maintenance programs for new and rebuilt equipmentHelp integrate electrical control systems for new or rebuilt machinery and process improvements
• Maintain compliance with GMP, SQF, OSHA, National Electric Code, NFPA, and company safety standards
• Work professionally with team members to resolve issues and support continuous improvement

What You Bring

• Associate degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Industrial Electronics, or a related field and 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, or 6+ years of progressively responsible industrial maintenance experience
• Ability to safely use hand tools and electronic test equipment
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder logic programs
• Knowledge of PLCs, digital and analog servo systems, and electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and using computers for machine control testing
• Experience with soldering, ARC welding, and MIG welding is preferred
• Strong communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, and a safety-first mindset including LOTO and PPE practices
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English and operate motorized vehicles such as forklifts and elevated platforms
