Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a Maintenance Technician to repair and maintain plastic molding machinery and related equipment in a manufacturing setting. The role requires troubleshooting across hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems, with emphasis on preventive maintenance and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in manufacturing maintenance, with preference for injection molding experience.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED as minimum education.
  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with injection molding machines is highly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret manuals, blueprints and diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain plastic molding machinery and associated equipment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on production lines.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical issues.
  • Install plate changeovers and start-up machines as needed for production.
  • Maintain safety, 5S, and lockout/tagout protocols.
  • Document changeovers, downtime and maintenance records.
  • Assist with part replacement and basic dimensional checks.

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician will repair and maintain plastic molding machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors, pneumatic tools, hydraulics, conveyor systems, electrical devices, production machines, and testing equipment. It also requires the fitting and installing parts into complex mechanical equipment. This position requires the skill to troubleshoot and maintain plastics injection molding equipment and all ancillary equipment used in the manufacturing process. Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems is necessary.

  • Follow, without exception, all work instructions and safety policies, including use of all PPE and safety equipment
  • Examine machine controls to install plate changeovers and start-up machines for production needs when required
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery
  • Repair basic mechanical components and replace parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges and switches
  • Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of the problem
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
  • Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements
  • Lubricate and clean machinery and support equipment to maintain housekeeping and preventive maintenance standards within the plant
  • Document and track changeover times and record
  • Accomplish all work orders to maintain safety; reduce downtime; decrease scrap; improve quality production; and improve plant efficiency
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures including the Lockout/Tagout program, housekeeping, and 5S standards and observes the operations to ensure a safe work environment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.

Education And/or Experiences
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 3-5 years maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • Tooling and repair experience highly preferred
  • Experience with injection molding machines is highly preferred
  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, blueprints, schematics, charts, diagrams, etc.
  • Ability to use precision measuring devices including amp meters, electric meters, and hydraulic gauges
  • Basic understanding of systems, equipment and schematics
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Good troubleshooting skills
  • Basic mathematical skills used to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and use decimals and fraction
