Position Summary
The Vacation Rental Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing routine and emergency maintenance tasks on our vacation rental properties. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing a variety of systems and equipment, ensuring properties are safe, functional, and meet Nomadness Rentals’ quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in maintenance, excellent problem‑solving skills, and a commitment to providing excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repairs, to ensure properties are in excellent condition.
- Conduct regular inspections of properties to identify and address maintenance issues before they become significant problems.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to minimize inconvenience for guests.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with various systems and equipment, providing efficient and effective solutions.
- Coordinate with external contractors and service providers when specialized repairs are needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including work performed and parts used.
- Ensure properties are safe and comply with all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Assist in setting up and maintaining property amenities, such as pools, hot tubs, and outdoor equipment.
- Communicate effectively with property management, cleaning teams, and guests to ensure a seamless and positive experience.
- Conduct quality control inspections of homes prior to guest arrive to ensure proper standards have been met.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to handle after‑hours emergencies as needed.
- Valid Drivers License required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, preferably in a hospitality or property management setting.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general maintenance practices.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and repair various systems and equipment.
- Strong organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for traveling between properties.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks, including lifting to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, and working in various environmental conditions.
Working Conditions
- This position requires frequent travel to various properties within the designated area.
- Maintenance tasks may need to be performed on weekends, holidays, and outside of regular business hours, depending on guest needs and emergencies.
- The role involves both indoor and outdoor work environments, sometimes in adverse weather conditions.
- Participate in an on‑call rotation to handle after‑hours emergencies as needed.
