Job summary

F&B MFG LLC in Arizona is seeking a maintenance technician to repair and maintain CNC machinery, including Haas, UMC 1000, Mazak and Eurotech lathes, and related equipment. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, and component replacement to minimize downtime.

The role requires experience reading schematics, electrical troubleshooting, and the ability to interpret manuals. English fluency is essential; forklift operation may be involved.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent, or three years related experience.
• Ability to read safety rules and maintenance instructions; English fluency required.
• Ability to interpret diagrams and perform basic algebra/geometry.
• Experience with repairing CNC or metalworking equipment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes operation to ensure performance meets specs.
• Performs preventative maintenance and calibration.
• Understands setup and operation of lathes, drills, grinders.
• Dismantles devices to access/replace defective parts.
• Inspects parts for dimensional changes.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts and tests after installation.
• Reads electrical schematics and tests PLCs/PCs/servo drives with a multimeter.
• Advises maintenance on parts and inventory to reduce downtime.

Summary: Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as Haas, UMC 1000 (must have), Mazak, & Eurotech CNC lathes and various other CNC equipment, engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Observes mechanical devices in operation to insure performance is in accordance with equipment specifications.
• Performs regular preventative maintenance, maintenance and calibration of equipment. **Must have UMC 1000 maintenance experience.**
• Understands the set-up and operation of lathes, drill presses, grinders and other metalworking tools in order to maintain and repair such equipment.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts.
• Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performances.
• Assists with the dismantling and or installation of equipment.
• Advises Maintenance Mgr. of parts needing to be ordered.
• Recommends components to be maintained in inventory in order to reduce down time of equipment.
• Is able to evaluate PLC’s, PC’s, servo drives by testing using a multi-meter and identifying problems and repair or replace needed parts.
• Must understand electrical schematics.

Education and Experience:

• Associates Degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual. Ability to write routine reports. Professional written and verbal fluency in English is required.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
