Job summary

R & B Grinding Co., Inc. is seeking a skilled CNC technician to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on CNC equipment. The role involves hands-on experience with precision machining, interpreting technical documentation, and working collaboratively with the production team.

Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years of experience, a technical degree, and the ability to read electrical schematics. Flexibility for overtime and physical capability to lift up to 40 pounds are required.

JOB SUMMARY

Hands-on experience with precision CNC machining equipment and peripheral automation; maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components and systems.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience troubleshooting FANUC controllers and identifying related failure modes for the purpose of repairing, and restarting CNC equipment.
• Effectively read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, PLC ladder and block logic.
• Repair and replace motors, amplifiers, transducers, servos and sensors.
• Perform skilled alignments of CNC spindles, turrets and tail stocks.
• Perform machine leveling and alignments on all equipment as required.
• Use machine tool manuals, technical documents along with internal and vendor resources to research machine issues for repair.
• Support electronic scheduled preventive maintenance by reading reports, performing job assignments and completing documents for closure.
• Perform work assignments with a sense of urgency with machine down conditions.
• In conjunction with production team, support continuous improvement with development of PM instructions and schedules to prevent recurring failure.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimally requires a thorough knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance duties.
• Hands on troubleshooting, teardown, and repair experience required.
• Associates degree or technical education; or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working in a related environment with CNC equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic prints and related technical documentation.
• Ability to read and interpret PLC ladder logic.
• Previous experience with FANUC robots, controllers and peripheral equipment on R30iB and R30iA control platforms. Knowledge of older platforms is a plus.
• Previous experience with FANUC application software and programming is a plus.
• Lift up to 40 pounds without assistance, reaching, bending and standing for long periods of time is also required.
• Flexibility and availability for overtime hours as required due to production demand
