Job summary

Cummins Inc. in Ladson, SC is seeking a Maintenance Technician - Level III for Abradable, 2nd shift, to join our manufacturing team.

You will support high-uptime equipment, perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance, and help drive TPM initiatives to improve safety, quality, and productivity. You will apply strong mechanical and electrical skills, work with Fanuc robots and Robodrill CNCs, and use maintenance software to document activities and coordinate with peers.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Experience with industrial robots (Fanuc) and CNCs.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management software.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented Maintenance Technician - Level III – Abradable - 2nd Shift to join our team specializing in Manufacturing for our Cummins Inc. facility in Ladson, SC

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
  • Champion a culture of safety : Proactively identify and report hazards, follow HSE standards, use proper PPE, and help create an environment where safety is everyone's responsibility.

  • Drive equipment reliability and uptime : Support preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities that reduce downtime and improve operational performance.

  • Deliver high-quality workmanship : Apply strong technical skills, follow specifications and procedures, and perform thorough inspections to ensure work is completed to the highest standards.

  • Improve maintenance effectiveness : Provide valuable feedback to the Preventive Maintenance system and contribute to failure analysis efforts that prevent recurring issues.

  • Support production goals : Execute maintenance activities efficiently, maintain equipment readiness, and perform required tasks that keep operations running smoothly.

  • Develop team capability : Share knowledge, coach less experienced team members, and serve as a trusted resource to strengthen overall team performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement : Partner with peers and support teams to identify manufacturing constraints, solve problems, and implement process improvements that enhance productivity and quality.

  • Strengthen collaboration and TPM initiatives : Communicate effectively across teams, participate in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities, and contribute to improvements in safety, quality, material flow, and employee development.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.

  • This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

  • Requires some work experience or intermediate level knowledge obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.

High mechanical and Electrical aptitude

Must be able to work alone with little supervision

Understanding of industrial washing a plus

Understanding of Fanuc Robots and Robodrill CNC is a plus

Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management software also a plus

Basic understanding of electrical principles and troubleshooting methods

  • Proficient in Siemens controls is a big + (Fully automated robot cell

  • 4 robot systems

  • Safety systems

  • Electrical more than mechanical a plus, but need to have mechanical abilities

  • Compressor cover – spraying the cover, machining it after spraying and sending out as a new part – part of maintaining all equipment-spray booth, 2 mills, washer, lasers – this person would be the site-specific expert on the maintenance side of things.
