Job summary

Swiss American CDMO is seeking a 2nd Shift Technician to troubleshoot and run multiple production lines, assembling, adjusting, and monitoring equipment to meet validated parameters and quality standards. You will read BOM notes, perform basic preventive maintenance, and work within SOPs and GMP guidelines to minimize scrap and downtime.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, up to one year of manufacturing experience, strong math and reading skills, and the ability to follow

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • One year of relevant experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment preferred.
  • Familiarity with a contract manufacturing environment is a plus.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents (safety rules, operating manuals, etc.).
  • Strong mathematical skills, including basic calculations.
  • Ability to perform basic measurements and calculations.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles and sets up a variety of production machines.
  • Perform changeovers and adjustments to bring machines to optimal production conditions.
  • Ability to work accurately and timely to meet the necessary goals for production.
  • Anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies for production lines.
  • Understands the process flow and step-by-step requirements for manufacturing.
  • Understands quality requirements for all finished good items.
  • Adjusts settings to meet validated requirements established by the quality department.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Reads gauges, dials, displays and monitors to ensure machinery is functioning properly.
  • Diagnoses equipment problems and plans repairs.
  • Notifies Supervisor/Manager concerning need for major repairs.
  • Compliance with SOPs and GMPs; maintain housekeeping per cGMPs.
  • Know how to use power and hand tools.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

2nd Shift

Position Summary

Troubleshoot various machines to run successfully at the validated parameters with minimal scrap and downtime to produce quality products that meet all FDA, GMP, ISO, SAP, and customer requirements. Technicians will be responsible for moving, assembling, testing, starting, operating, adjusting, and monitoring of several production lines in accordance with applicable Standard Operating Procedures and current Good Manufacturing Practices. Technicians must be able to read and interpret BOM notes to setup production equipment and to perform basic preventative machine maintenance and troubleshooting on various production lines.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assembles and sets up a variety of production machines.
  • Perform changeovers and adjustments to bring machines to optimal production conditions.
  • Ability to work accurately and timely to meet the necessary goals for production.
  • Anticipates needed equipment, parts, and supplies for production lines.
  • Understands the process flow and step-by-step requirements for manufacturing.
  • Understands quality requirements for all finished good items.
  • Adjusts settings such as pressures, temperatures, weights, dimensions, tension, depth, and speeds to meet the validated requirements that are established by the quality department to produce product.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
  • Is able to read gauges, dials, displays and monitors to ensure that machinery is functioning properly.
  • Diagnoses equipment problems and establishes a plan to repair it.
  • Notifies Supervisor/Manager concerning need for major repairs.
  • Technical comprehension of mechanical functions and controls for filling equipment.
  • Comply with current SOP’s and GMP’s.
  • Maintain housekeeping in conformance with cGMP’s.
  • Knows how to properly use power and hand tools.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
