Qualifications

• Experience in repair or general maintenance is required or preferred.
• Comfort with electrical, carpentry, plumbing, and mechanical tasks.
• Ability to read and interpret maintenance instructions and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary resource for Maintenance Technicians, providing hands-on troubleshooting and mentorship.
• Coordinate daily maintenance priorities and communicate workflow needs with supervisors.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Install, align, and balance new equipment; identify needs for outside contractors when necessary.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees and reinforce maintenance best practices.
• Promote safety, quality, productivity, and adherence to established maintenance protocols.
• Escalate significant equipment issues or safety hazards to management.
• Maintain documentation of maintenance and repair activities and related costs.
• Maintain clean, organized work environment and pursue continuous improvement.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production, engineering, contractors, and other departments.

JOB SUMMARY

Performing repair or general maintenance work to keep facilities, buildings, grounds, machines, mechanical equipment in repair. Duties involve electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, glazier, and painting tasks; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.

Work Experience

• Serve as the primary resource for Maintenance Technicians, providing hands-on troubleshooting support, guidance, and mentorship.
• Assist with coordinating daily maintenance priorities and communicate workflow needs, equipment concerns, and repair status to supervisors.
• Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment, and systems.
• Diagnose mechanical issues and perform necessary repairs, including basic mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and general building maintenance.
• Install, align, and balance new equipment and identify when repairs require additional technical support or outside contractors.
• Assist with training and onboarding new employees and reinforce skill development and proper maintenance practices across the team.
• Promote team adherence to safety procedures, quality standards, productivity expectations, and established maintenance practices.
• Identify and elevate significant equipment failures, recurring maintenance concerns, safety hazards, process inefficiencies, or personnel concerns to management.
• Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance and repair activities, including completed work and associated costs when applicable.
• Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient work environment and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production, engineering, contractors, and other departments to support equipment reliability and operational needs; perform other duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee sometimes works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to excessive noise, extreme heat, extreme cold, and heights. When participating in activities on the shop floor, the noise level in the work environment is typical for a fabrication shop and ear plugs may be used as necessary.
