Job summary

EMBREY in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance, repairs and inspections to keep buildings safe and functional. You will handle HVAC, electrical, plumbing tasks and respond to emergencies, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to read blueprints and work orders. Travel between sites may be required and a valid driver's license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
• Experience in building maintenance, facilities or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and general repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints and work orders.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects or work in tight spaces.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license (if travel between sites is required).
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on building systems.
• Repair or replace faulty equipment, fixtures and appliances.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems as needed.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, including janitorial duties when needed.
• Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety codes and company policies.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
• Assist with building renovations, installations or furniture assembly.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and request replacements when necessary.
• Collaborate with contractors or vendors when specialized repairs are needed.
