Job summary

Dal-Tile, a Mohawk Industries subsidiary, seeks a Maintenance Technician IV to perform complex mechanical and electrical duties in a manufacturing setting. The role includes troubleshooting PLCs, installing controllers, and leading process improvements.

A strong background in electrical systems and blueprints is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Journeyman license preferred.
• Basic computer skills and ability to read procedures in English.
• 4+ years of industrial maintenance experience and 2+ years in industrial electrical work; formal PLC training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) using handheld device or laptop.
• Install, maintain, or repair equipment for electrical energy generation and distribution in a manufacturing setting.
• Interpret blueprints, diagnose electrical systems, and ensure safe operation; lead process improvements.

Dal-Tile is currently seeking a Maintenance TechnicianIVto join our TEAM! As the Maintenance Technician we need someone who canmake adjustments tomachines and equipment for proper operation.

Primary Objective

Performs complex mechanical duties and a variety of electrical trade functions in the installation, maintenance, repair and/or distribution of electrical energy. Installs, maintains and replaces electronic programmable controllers in a manufacturing environment.

Major Function and Scope

Trouble shoot PLC’s (Programmable Logic Controller) usinghand helddevice or laptop.

Design and redesign program and software (PLCs, operator panels,etc).

Format hard drives and install to the computers (Computer Setup) and PC application

Installs,maintainsor repairs equipment for the generation, distribution or utilization of electrical energy in a manufacturing environment.

Locates and diagnosis trouble in electrical systems or equipment working fromblueprints, drawings, layouts or other specifications.

Works standard computations related to load requirements of wiring and/or electrical equipment.

Knowledge of Serial port communication systems, VFD’s (Variable Frequency Drives) and process control instrumentation devices (thermocouples, pressure switches,etc).

Knowledgeof Servomotors and drive units.

Continuously reviewing their respective area for ideas and thoughts that will drive productivity and reduce costs within the organization and be able to professionally speak to their solution for improvement.

Process improvement (Plan and submit process improvements and execute the plan)

Uses a variety of electrician’s tools including measuring and testing instruments.

Leads projects and completes them successfully, returning equipment to production operating safely and efficiently.

Keeps work area safe,cleanand organized.

Performs other related duties as required.

Experience and Knowledge Required

High school diploma or equivalent experience. Knowledge of electrical code. Journeyman electrical license preferred.

4 or moreyears industrial maintenance experience and 2 years industrial electrical experience. Formal PCL training preferred.

Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office)

Ability to read blueprints. Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems and PLC’s. Ability to score 80% or better on the Industrial Maintenance exam. Ability to read and understand procedures in English. Ability to test motors and electrical circuits using a voltmeter and amp meter. In depth knowledge of LGV equipment and operation.

The associate may be required to sometimes sit, climb or balance. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position includes close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The associate is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures. The noise level is usually loud.
