Job summary

Schwan's Company in Westfield, NY is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician. You will perform high-level maintenance tasks in the plant, with expertise in refrigeration, electrical, or electronics programming, and room to advance.

The role requires an Associate or Bachelor's in the area, 10+ years of maintenance experience, electrical journeyman or PLC training, and the ability to read and interpret safety and operating manuals. Strong problem solving and basic computer skills are essential.

What we need from you:

• Associates or Bachelor's in area of specialization Years of Experience: 10+ years of maintenance
• Knowledge, Skills, abilities: Specialized maintenance training such as Electrical journeyman, PLC specialized training or degree
• Ability to troubleshoot complex maintenance issues within area of specialization.
• Advanced Electrical and Maintenance knowledge required
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to complete work orders, carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form and complete required paperwork
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area circumference, and volume

Responsibilities:

• This position is responsible for the highest technical and specialty maintenance tasks in the plant or DC. Typically, is seen as an expert in the field of refrigeration, electrical, or electronics programming.
• Conducts specialized maintenance tasks in the plant solving complex problems and using specialized expertise to bring solutions.
• Performs duties consistent with electrical journeyman activities
• Coaches junior staff on complex maintenance issues within areas of expertise
