Job summary

Hydrogen Group is seeking a dedicated facilities technician to maintain and repair building infrastructure, equipment, and grounds in Boulder, CO. The role focuses on HVAC systems, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and preventive maintenance to ensure reliable operations.

You will work on-site, interpret sketches and blueprints, and coordinate with subcontractors. Daily walkthroughs and proactive reporting support safe, efficient facility management.

Qualifications

• Experience performing mechanical service calls and in-house repairs.
• Ability to independently determine methods and procedures for new assignments.
• Skilled trade work related to construction, repair or alteration of structures.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical service calls and in-house repairs across the facility and grounds.
• Independently determine appropriate methods for new assignments.
• Perform carpentry and painting tasks for structures and fixtures.
• Monitor and maintain HVAC systems, central utilities and generators.
• Work from sketches, blueprints and drawings as needed.
• Liaise with subcontractors and report progress to Facilities Manager.
• Monitor gas supplies (nitrogen and argon).
• Inform stakeholders of progress and issues in their areas.
• Conduct two daily facility walkthroughs and report discrepancies within 30 minutes.

Job description

Schedule: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Fully on-site

This position is responsible for maintaining and repairing facility infrastructure, equipment, and grounds, including plumbing and HVAC systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform a variety of mechanical service calls and in-house repairs throughout the facility and grounds.
• Independently determine appropriate methods and procedures for new assignments.
• Perform skilled trade work, including carpentry and painting, related to the construction, repair, or alteration of structures such as walls, roofs, office fixtures, and floor substrates.
• Monitor, maintain, document, and perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, including central utilities and generators.
• Work from sketches, blueprints, and drawings as needed.
• Act as a liaison to subcontractors.
• Monitor in-house gas supplies, including nitrogen and argon.
• Keep stakeholders informed of work progress and communicate any issues within their respective areas.
• Conduct two daily walkthroughs of the entire facility and report any discrepancies or issues to the Facilities Manager within 30 minutes of discovery.
