Job summary

Carlisle Construction Materials in Tooele, UT is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work on preventive, predictive, and routine maintenance to keep equipment and buildings fully operational. You will operate with plant personnel and independently on maintenance projects.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Experience with forklift driving is required.
• Willingness to operate various tools and perform preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on equipment and support production needs.
• Evaluate operation and suggest actions during malfunctions or improvements.
• Manage plant utilities such as chiller, air compressor, security and fire systems.
• Complete PM/work orders and communicate data.
• Maintain machinery including mixers, conveyors, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, controls.
• Troubleshoot and repair production and facilities equipment.
• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
• Repair or replace control devices as needed.
• Set up and operate power tools and metalworking equipment.
• Assist with fabrication and modification of equipment.
• Comply with Carlisle policies and safety protocols.
• Execute projects as needed.
• Apply continuous improvement tools to the role.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Maintenance Technician works independently and with other plant personnel to perform preventive, predictive and routine maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and building fully operational.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform needed maintenance on equipment and direct support of production operating needs.
• Evaluate equipment operation and suggest necessary action when malfunctions occur, or improvements are needed
• Participate in planning activities and manage various plant utilities that can include chiller, air compressor, security system & fire protection system.
• Complete process and preventive maintenance work orders. Capture and communicate associated data.
• Maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, hydraulics, motors, pneumatics, automated controls, and pumps.
• Troubleshoot issues, repair failures of production and facilities equipment.
• Develop knowledge of electrical and PLC troubleshooting.
• Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed.
• Set up and operate power tools, drill motor, circular saw, welders, drill press, bench grinder, band saw, hand tools and other metal working equipment
• Assist with fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
• Comply and participate regulatory, Carlisle, & departmental policies, procedures, & standards (PSM, safety protocols, COS).
• As directed execute projects on an as needed basis.
• Applies continuous improvement tools and processes to every aspect of the role.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions
