Job summary

PCE, Inc. in Lincoln, NE is seeking a Maintenance Technician Intern to support troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of plant equipment. The role is M-F, 16-20 hours per week, 4pm-8pm, designed for students in mechanical or electrical fields.

You will perform emergency repairs, routine maintenance, and assist with Lean/TPM practices; expected to lift 50 pounds, use basic math, and work with pneumatic/hydraulic systems; enrolled in related degree or have 1 year experience.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Mechanical/Electrical field or related degree or a minimum of 1 year of equivalent work experience.
• Basic math and mechanical troubleshooting skills required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repair to support production.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and routine checks on equipment.
• Carry out building maintenance tasks inside and outside the plant.
• Adhere to ISO guidelines, OSHA safety regulations, and maintain clean work areas.
• Assist with TPM/Lean initiatives and other duties as assigned.

POSITION:Maintenance Technician Intern

SUMMARY: Responsible for troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of all plant equipment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for providing emergency/unscheduled repair of production equipment to support production.


• Performs scheduled maintenance of equipment as necessary.


• Thorough preventive maintenance checks will be performed on a routine schedule.


• Performs skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of production machines and Facility equipment.


• Comply with ISO guidelines, OSHA Safety and Health regulations, and maintain clean and orderly work areas.


• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.


• Perform various building maintenance activities-inside and outside the plant

REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to handle multiple tasks.


• Good organization skills.


• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral


• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds frequently


• Willingness to learn and keep up with current technologies.


• Ability to crouch, crawl, climb ladders, and work at various heights


• Good basic math skills


• Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability


• Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office software.


• Knowledge of Lean, 5S, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a plus.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Enrolled in Mechanical/Electrical field or related degree or a minimum of 1 year of equivalent work experience.
