Description

Job Summary: Performs general maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical systems, machinery, and equipment, heating and plumbing systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs general and preventive maintenance on shop equipment.
2. Interprets manuals, drawings, and specifications for repairs and troubleshooting.
3. Uses testing devices, disassembles, repairs, replaces parts, and reassembles equipment.
4. Performs basic fabrication and assembly.
5. Maintains facility upkeep and repairs, refers complex issues to supervisor.
6. Maintains HVAC systems, runs wiring and piping, performs basic electrical repairs.
7. Assists with moving, relocating, and installing equipment.
8. Places purchase requisitions for parts, manages hazardous materials per safety procedures.
9. Follows lockout/tagout procedures and safety policies.
10. Completes documentation accurately and adheres to attendance policies.
11. Contributes to team efforts and assists as needed.

Education and Experience

Two-year technical degree with 1-3 years of related experience, or equivalent.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, and manuals; effective communication skills.

Reasoning Ability

Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions.
