Job summary

The Collier Companies is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join our on-site team in Athens, GA. You will support the maintenance crew to uphold property standards, troubleshoot issues, and perform repairs across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and related areas with a strong customer service focus.

This full-time, on-site role may require flexible hours including nights and weekends, plus on-call responsibilities during peak seasons.

Qualifications

• EPA certification is a plus. Existing maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience as a maintenance technician for at least 1 year preferred.
• Strong work ethic and eager-to-learn attitude.
• Apartment housing experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing & HVAC.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance team to ensure property standards are met.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems.
• Complete work orders efficiently and with customer service focus.
• Be available for flexible scheduling including nights, weekends, and on-call rotation.
• Pass basic maintenance test and bring basic tools.

This is an on‑site role, reporting from one of The Collier Companies’ community offices in Athens, which offers a storied music history, incredible food culture, and botanical gardens. It is home to the University of Georgia and Georgia Museum of Art. Athens was ranked as one of the best places to visit in Georgia.

As a Maintenance Technician, you will supportthe Maintenance Team inensuring that the physical aspects of the property meet The Collier Company’s established standards. The Maintenance Technician is an expert at troubleshooting, diagnosingproblems, and making solutions with a customer service attitude. The Maintenance Technician's responsibilitiescould include but are not limited to repairs in areas such as HVAC (if certified), electrical, plumbing, pool, carpentry, dry walling, exterior structural, and appliance.

Qualifications: Your Skills – Show Us What You Got:

• Universal EPA certification is a plus!
• Experience as a maintenance technician for at least 1 year preferred
• Strong work ethic and an eager‑to‑learn attitude
• Apartment housing experience strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of appliances, plumbing & HVAC
• Organized, efficient, and detail‑oriented to complete work orders
• Able to work a flexible schedule, which may include nights/weekends and emergency‑on‑call rotation
• Proven track record of excellent customer service
• Technician must have basic tools and be able to pass basic maintenance test.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid instate driver’s license

**This is a full-time position that consists of emergency on‑call commitment. Overtime commitment in the Summer/Fall turn season.
