Job summary

Refresco is seeking a Maintenance Technician to uphold GMPs and food safety while performing preventive and corrective maintenance in a fast-paced production environment. You will read blueprints, troubleshoot multiple systems, and maintain key production utilities.

The role requires a high school degree and at least two years of manufacturing maintenance experience. Opportunities include training and collaboration across teams, with varied shifts and overtime as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, GMPs and PPE in warehouse or production areas.
• Maintain food quality and food safety per SQF and other standards.
• Report FSMS issues to initiate corrective actions.
• Perform repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, and pneumatic systems.
• Maintain production supporting equipment (glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication systems, chemical distribution).
• Record used part numbers and complete work orders for inventory purposes.
• Communicate maintenance and production information between shifts.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Coordinate with production during downtime and drive improvements.

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Required Skills:

• Knowledge of GMPs.
• Understanding of Food Safety Requirements.
• Must be able to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.

Education and Experience:

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection, and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

Travel Requirements:

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.
