Job summary

Refresco Beverages US Inc. in Maryland Heights, MO is seeking a Maintenance Technician to perform scheduled, unscheduled and preventive maintenance on beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment.

The role requires strong mechanical skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyors, and PLCs, with emphasis on safety and quality compliance. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will address downtime, train others, and collaborate with teams to improve reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school degree or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years previous maintenance experience in manufacturing preferred.
• Must obtain and maintain forklift certification.
• Ability to read, understand, and work with machinery blueprints and parts manuals.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all health and safety policies, GMPs and wear PPE in warehouse or production areas.
• Adhere to food quality and food safety standards (SQF, etc.).
• Report problems with FSMS to initiate corrective actions.
• Perform repair and preventive maintenance and line changeovers.
• Troubleshoot machinery (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic).
• Maintain production support equipment (glycol, RO, compressed air, lubrication, chemical distribution).
• Document and close all work orders and record part numbers for inventory.

Contractual hourly wage rate is $33.50 per hour- additional $.20 per hour 2 nd and 3 rd shift allowance.

Summary Description:

• Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the scheduled, unscheduled and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment requiring a strong mechanical skills base to include hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, conveyor systems and PLC usage. Completes all work allocated to a high standard having the ability to complete all maintenance tasks across the installed asset base. Regularly observes and discuss equipment performance and make recommendations for activities to improve this. Promotes and supports the company quality & safety standards, focusing on continuous improvement.

Essential Job Functions:

• Adhere to all health and safety policies/procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while in the warehouse or production areas (including but not limited to hairnets/beard nets, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard toe and slip/oil resistant shoes, appropriate safety gloves, and seatbelts while operating forklifts).
• Responsible to adhere to food quality and food safety as per the standard(s) provided by corporate, customer, and/or governing bodies (ex. SQF).
• Report problems with the FSMS to responsible managerial employees to initiate corrective actions.
• Ability to perform and complete repair maintenance, preventive maintenance, and line changeovers.
• Able to troubleshoot machinery for malfunctions (electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, & pneumatic).
• Able to perform maintenance on all production supporting equipment (i.e. glycol system, RO system, Compressed Air system, lubrication systems, chemical distribution systems).
• Use innovative thinking when troubleshooting equipment in order to minimize production downtime, assure food safety, product quality and personnel safety.
• Complete, document, and retrieve final approvals on all assigned work orders to include recording all utilized part numbers for inventory purposes.
• Communicate effectively and completely all relevant maintenance and production related information from shift to relieving shift.
• Assist in training other maintenance personnel.
• Communicate with production during periods of downtime.
• Work collaboratively with all adjacent teams to resolve issues rapidly and drive improvement.

Education and Experience:

Working Conditions:

• Work Schedule: Weekdays, weekends, afternoon, evening, and overnight may be required. Overtime scheduled as needed.
• Work Environment: Operating in a fast-paced production plant with numerous moving parts. Noise levels require hearing protection and temperatures can get very hot and/or relatively cold). The environment is structured and supervised.

• May be minimal travel required as needed for training.
