A well-established nonprofit residential housing provider is seeking a full-time Maintenance Technician II in Washington, Pennsylvania. This role is ideal for someone with broad building-maintenance experience who can balance service requests, apartment turns, inspections, preventive maintenance, and unexpected repairs.
What the Position Offers
- Starting pay of $21–$23 per hour, depending on related experience
- $2,000 full-time sign-on bonus, distributed at scheduled intervals during the first year
- Primarily weekday, daylight scheduling
- Rotating emergency on-call responsibilities
- Mileage reimbursement for approved travel between communities during the workday
A Typical Day May Include
- Responding to resident work orders and maintenance concerns
- Troubleshooting plumbing leaks, electrical issues, HVAC concerns, and appliance problems
- Completing routine and preventive maintenance
- Inspecting building systems, apartments, and common areas
- Preparing vacant apartments for new residents within established timelines
- Painting and performing drywall, carpentry, hardware, and general repairs
- Maintaining community appearance, including seasonal grounds work and snow removal
- Coordinating with vendors when specialized repairs are needed
- Tracking completed work through an electronic work-order system
- Interacting professionally and respectfully with residents and team members
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A high school diploma or GED and two years of building or property-maintenance experience; or
- One year of relevant maintenance or skilled-trade experience and at least six months of education or training in electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pipefitting, carpentry, or a related field
- Experience safely operating common hand and power tools
- Basic computer, email, and work-order-system skills
- A valid and active driver’s license
- Reliable access to a registered and insured vehicle
- The ability to travel locally when necessary
- The flexibility to participate in an emergency on-call rotation
- A dependable work history and strong attention to detail
Specialized HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliance, or carpentry training should be clearly listed on your résumé.
