Job Description: Maintenance Technician II

Looking for a challenging role in a highly automated environment where you can truly make a difference?

We are an industrial maintenance team seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join a family-owned regional company that has been growing successfully since 1934. This role involves repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and installing various equipment and components within an automated processing facility.

Minimum job requirements include knowledge of the following areas:

• Preventative maintenance procedures
• Boilers
• Air compressors
• Welding and Piping
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Electrical circuitry and PLCs
• Electromechanical utility and electrical troubleshooting
• General equipment and building maintenance

Additional skills that are a plus:

Experience with air cylinders, solenoid valves, steam traps, motor starters, gear reducers, inverter drives, or industrial laundry equipment.

Core Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance programs
• Communicate effectively with all management levels and support engineering teams
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards
• Troubleshoot equipment issues by observing mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Use precision measuring and testing instruments
• Assist other maintenance personnel with repairs
• Inspect motors, belts, fluid levels, and perform maintenance actions following procedures
• Perform welding activities (MIG, TIG, ARC, brazing)
• Troubleshoot and repair PLCs and control systems
• Conduct boiler chemical testing and safety checks
• Test wastewater pretreatment systems
• Clean and lubricate machinery parts

Qualifications:

• Ability to read and understand maintenance literature in English
• High school diploma or GED
• Solid mechanical background and skills
• Flexible work schedule
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to stand for up to 7 hours during an 8-hour shift
• Relevant maintenance experience (formal or informal)
• Experience with safety programs like Lock Out/Tag Out, confined space, OSHA awareness, etc.
• Minimum of 2 years of maintenance experience
