  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to adapt to a 24-hour operation schedule and lift up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment; respond to breakdowns promptly.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on conveyor systems.
  • Replace parts and rebuild/align equipment including gears, shafts, pulleys and belts.
  • Consult illustrated parts breakdown manuals for repairs and modifications.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
  • Conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
  • Occasionally support after-hours to keep MHS systems operational.
  • Contribute to a safe work environment by following the Company Safety Program.

Overview

OnTrac is hiring a Maintenance Technician 2 – Conveyor Systems. The role focuses on inspecting, maintaining, and repairing conveyor systems in accordance with federal and state regulations and company standards to ensure a safe working environment.

Location: 9715 N. Virginia St., Reno, NV 89506

Shift(s): Friday to Monday - 2:00pm to 12:00am (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation: The expected starting base pay range for this position is $35.54 - $44.42, with a full potential base salary range over a successful candidate’s tenure in the position of $44.42 - $53.31. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location, and other job-related factors. This position may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation, in accordance with applicable Company policies and law.

Employment logistics: Our Conveyor Maintenance Tech 2 ensures all conveyor systems are inspected, maintained, and repaired in accordance with regulations and company standards, with a focus on safety.

Responsibilities
  • You will ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding in a timely manner to all material handling systems breakdowns.
  • You will maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
  • You will change and repair parts of conveyor systems, as well as rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
  • You will use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
  • You will perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean-up, conveyor and equipment clean-up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
  • You will conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
  • From time to time, you may be called in after hours to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems are working at optimum capacity.
  • You will maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
  • 3 years or greater related experience and/or training in mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • High voltage electrical experience is required.
  • Current Driver's License and clean driving record.
  • Ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform duties.
  • Knowledge of Material Handling Systems (MHS), industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480V).
  • Knowledge of LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3-Phase electrical work.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical work experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24-hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.
