Job summary

OnTrac is seeking a Maintenance Technician 2 – Conveyor Systems in Reno, NV. You will inspect, maintain, and repair conveyor systems in compliance with regulations and company standards to keep operations running safely and efficiently.

The role requires 3+ years of mechanical/electrical experience, high voltage expertise, a GED/HS diploma, and a valid driver’s license. You may work after-hours to support 24/7 operations, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment; respond to breakdowns promptly.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on conveyor systems.
• Change and repair parts; rebuild and align equipment and belts.
• Use manuals and schematics for repairs and maintenance; read blueprints.

Shift(s): Friday to Monday – 2:00 pm to 12:00 am (Schedule subject to change based on the needs of the business)

Compensation: Expected starting base pay range $35.54 – $44.42. Full potential base salary over tenure $44.42 – $53.31. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, internal equity, geographic location and other job‑related factors. The position may also be eligible for shift differentials, overtime pay, or other forms of additional compensation in accordance with applicable company policies and law.

The Must‑Haves

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.

Your Mission In Motion

• Ensure proper operation of conveyor systems and material handling equipment to keep operations running smoothly, responding promptly to all material handling system breakdowns.
• Maintain and provide routine preventive maintenance to conveyor systems.
• Change and repair parts of conveyor systems, rebuild and align equipment, gears, shafts, pulleys, and belts.
• Use illustrated parts breakdown manuals and operational manuals in the repair, modification, and maintenance of equipment.
• Perform housekeeping duties, including work area clean‑up, conveyor and equipment clean‑up, and other general housekeeping duties as assigned.
• Conduct daily inspections of machinery for potential problems.
• From time to time, may be called in after hours to ensure MHS (conveyor) systems work at optimum capacity.
• Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the company safety program.

Paving Your Way To Your Success

• Possess the ability to learn and follow all safety regulations and job instructions to perform duties.
• Utilize company tools and have the ability to purchase new tools as needed.
• Demonstrate knowledge of MHS, industrial conveyor systems and controls in distribution, shipping, and sorting environments, VFDs, and electronic motors (480 V).
• Understand LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out), PMs (Preventative Maintenance), and 3‑Phase electrical work.
• Read and understand schematics and electrical blueprints.
• Hold mechanical and/or electrical work experience.
• Understand OSHA requirements.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate 24‑hour operations, occasionally working extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Lift 60 pounds on a routine basis.

The salary range above represents the national range for this position. The salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at OnTrac, and the actual base salary offered may vary depending on several factors including, but not limited to: geographic location, candidate experience and qualifications, job‑related skills and competencies, market alignment, and financial considerations.
