Job summary

Volvo Group’s Charlotte transition facility is seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the remanufacturing of engines and transmissions. You will perform preventive and reactive maintenance on machines and facility equipment, order replacement parts, and manage inventory while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

The role involves collaboration with engineers and product managers on production improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience reading electrical blueprints, schematics, and mechanical drawings.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform reactive and preventive maintenance on machines and facility.
• Record, report, and act on solutions for damaged, worn, or broken parts.
• Order and install replacement parts for machines.
• Manage spare part inventory.
• Identify causes of unexpected breakdowns and document them.
• Prepare reports documenting work performed, including Kaizens.
• Clean, organize, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.
• Coordinate with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.
• Collaborate with product manager or plant engineer on new product modifications.
• Make modifications and run tests; discuss results with product manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned; mitigate safety hazards.
• Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and air systems.
• Act as liaison for vendor repair items at the factory.
• Support Volvo Performance System continuous improvement projects.
