Job description

Maintenance Technician II - Jeltz/McGuire

Join us for the Maintenance Technician II - Jeltz/McGuire role at Oklahoma City Housing Authority.

Position Details:

  • Signing Bonus of $1,000 offered; paid in two $500 installments after completing a full pay period and a six-month introductory period.

Scope: Perform maintenance repairs for compliance with PHAS, and handle equipment and unit make-ready work for building, grounds, and equipment upkeep.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete assigned work orders.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Obtain necessary materials and tools.
  • Repair/replace doors, locks, ranges, refrigerators, lighting fixtures, fences, and surfaces.
  • Exterior/grounds work including mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, and pest control.
  • Secure unoccupied units, clean, paint, and repair units, including drywall, flooring, caulking, and general repairs in compliance with industry standards.
  • Assist with basic training of Maintenance Technician I.
  • Document work orders and manage inventory.
  • Be available for emergency, after-hours, weekend, and holiday work.
  • Follow all policies and perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions: Mix of office and field environments, with possible exposure to weather, noise, fumes, and other hazards. Stress management required due to volume and emergencies.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, vocational training, three years of maintenance experience, or a combination. Valid Oklahoma Driver License, ability to lift 50 pounds, and effective communication skills. Ability to work independently and follow instructions.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, access all building areas, and perform physical tasks with or without accommodations under ADA.
