Job summary

Central States Manufacturing, Inc. in Michigan City, IN is seeking a skilled maintenance technician responsible for electrical, plumbing, and general repairs across the facility, and for diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

You will perform fabrications, operate a forklift, read drawings, maintain tools, and log equipment records in the CMMS. This safety-sensitive role requires hands-on problem solving and the ability to work off-hours as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of three years of relative maintenance experience preferred.
• Must read electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical schematics.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair AC/DC controls, and read prints.
• Must be able to fabricate, weld, and cut metal parts.
• Must be able to operate a forklift and lift 75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Mends electrical, plumbing, and general facility repairs throughout the building.
• Diagnoses and fixes electrical and electronic issues; repairs and replaces equipment as needed.
• Performs fabrication maintenance and meets quality standards.
• Operates forklift and maintains safe operation.
• Reads drawings, prints, and schematics to guide repairs.
• Maintains tools and enters records into CMMS.
• Welds and cuts materials using various techniques as required.
• Willing to work at other facilities, weekends, and on-call as needed.
