Job summary

The University of Texas at Arlington is seeking a Maintenance Worker II to perform skilled maintenance and repair tasks across multiple trades, including plumbing, painting, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and groundskeeping. The role involves make-ready duties in apartments and resident halls and training of Maintenance Worker I. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday, 2:00 p.m.

– 10:30 p.m. with monthly pay; salary is commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of sub-journeyman maintenance and repair experience.
• Valid Texas driver license and three years driving history.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance repair work on heating and air conditioning equipment.
• Performs semi-skilled electrical work.
• Conducts daily inspections of assigned areas and makes repairs where necessary.
• Performs preventative maintenance for life safety & security devices.
• Performs emergency mechanical repairs until journeyman or supervisory personnel arrive.
• Performs routine work orders to make repairs and to building systems.
• Responds to storm & weather-related needs for campus.
