Job summary

Charleston Water System is seeking an entry-level Maintenance Technician II/III to support the Hanahan Water Treatment plant. You will engage in a structured apprenticeship, learn preventive and predictive maintenance, and work on pumps, valves, and pumps with supervision.

As you progress, opportunities to handle complex maintenance tasks and advanced equipment will grow. This position requires accuracy in record-keeping and readiness to train in a team environment at our Hanahan facility.

Qualifications

• Entry position requiring completion of the Charleston Water System Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program.
• Must pass required training sessions and perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance.
• Experience with pumps, valves, mechanical systems and safety procedures is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance duties of moderate difficulty on plant equipment.
• Assist with diesel/generator and pump system maintenance and repairs.
• Maintain, repair and operate plant machinery and shop equipment.
• Read blueprints/diagrams and follow technical manuals to meet job criteria.
• Document activities accurately and participate in cross-training.
