Job summary

Parker Hannifin's Hydraulic & Aerospace Filtration Division is seeking a Maintenance II technician to support manufacturing operations. You will troubleshoot, repair, install, and perform preventative maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems up to 480V three-phase.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent or a two-year technical degree and be able to read blueprints and maintenance manuals; strong safety and English communication are required.

Qualifications

  • Two years technical degree preferred or four years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating and maintenance manuals.
  • Must be able to read, write and understand English for safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general building and equipment maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, sheet metal and fabrication.
  • Maintain mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems up to 480 volts 3 phase; ensure electrical safety.
  • Move, set up and level machines; install guards and keep equipment lubricated and operational.
  • Coordinate and perform preventative maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunctions; repair or replace components as needed.
  • Disassemble, repair and rebuild electrical and mechanical units and machines.
  • Safely operate maintenance tools (saws, grinders, CNC mills/lathes) as required.
  • Keep department areas clean; communicate with outside services as needed.
  • Support other duties assigned by supervisor.

Position Summary

The Maintenance II role performs a broad range of building, equipment, and machinery maintenance activities to support safe and efficient plant operations. This position requires hands-on troubleshooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, including industrial electrical systems up to 480V three-phase. The role also supports machine setup, fabrication, plant rearrangements, equipment rebuilds, and coordination with outside service providers as needed. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong technical aptitude, safe work practices, attention to detail, and the ability to support departmental needs in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide range of general building and equipment maintenance, such as plumbing, general electrical, carpentry, sheet metal and fabrication design, sheet metal repair work and plant rearrangements
  • Safe working knowledge and skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems and a safe working knowledge of all electrical equipment and systems up to 480 volts 3 phase industrial plant electrical wiring and code requirements
  • Move, set up and level machines. Install guards and see that machines are lubricated and properly operational
  • Coordinate and/or perform equipment preventative maintenance and preventative maintenance programs
  • Troubleshoot mechanical/electrical malfunctions/breakdowns, recommend and initiate proper activity to repair
  • Disassemble, repair and rebuild electrical control units, mechanical units, mechanisms and machines
  • Ability to safely utilize maintenance equipment (including but not limited to saws, grinders, CNC mills and lathes, etc.) to perform duties as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of department floors and machinery
  • Communicate with and utilize outside services and support as necessary to troubleshoot problems, provide project and maintenance assistance and offer technical resources
  • Support, assist and perform other various duties and tasks as assigned by the department supervisor
Qualifications
  • Citizenship: US Citizen or Permanent Resident Alien
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Two (2) years Technical Degree preferred or four (4) year's experience in lieu of a degree. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, operating, and maintenance manuals
  • Communication: For safety and quality, must be able to read, write & understand English
  • Vision: 20/25 vision corrected or uncorrected; Near acuity and accommodation are required for reading machine manuals, gages, prints and precision measuring instruments
  • Physical Demands: Associate is required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and crouch; Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to the floor. Ability to lift 50 pounds, exert 25 to 45 pounds of linear force occasionally, and/or exert 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action is required.
