Job summary

Drury Inns & Suites in Lafayette, LA seeks a Maintenance Technician to keep the property safe, functional, and welcoming. You will perform preventive maintenance, repairs across plumbing, electrical, and HVAC, and support guest satisfaction with courteous service.

Qualifications

• Advanced maintenance knowledge and skills across multiple hotel systems.
• Ability to dismantle equipment to repair or replace components.
• Knowledge of water chemistry, testing, filtration for pool maintenance.
• Experience implementing and monitoring preventive maintenance programs.
• General building maintenance including electrical and plumbing basics.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe and smooth-running hotel property and grounds.
• Complete repairs across plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipment, and HVAC.
• Perform light carpentry, painting, vinyl and drywall repairs.
• Implement safety programs and regulatory compliance in the facility.
• Keep detailed records and reports; provide training to maintenance team.
• Collaborate with management to recruit for department needs.

What you will do:

Maintain safe and smooth-running physical hotel property and grounds.

• Complete repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of systems such as plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, kitchen equipmentand HVAC

• Perform light carpentry, painting, vinyl and drywall repair

• Implement and monitor programs to ensure a safe facility and work environment in compliance with all appropriate regulations: ergonomic, emergency response and injury prevention

• Keep detailed records and reports

• Provide ongoing training to Maintenance Tech I team members

• Collaborate with management to recruit for department needs

• Contribute to an exceptional guest experience by providing courteous and friendly guest service

What we expect of you:

• We seek self-motivated, organized team members with the ability to demonstrate or be trained to be able to perform the following:

• Advanced maintenance knowledge and skills, with ability to handle all aspects of hotel maintenance

• Ability to complete partial or full dismantling of equipment to repair or replace defective components and restore functionality

• Knowledge of water chemistry, water testing, filtration, and mechanical operationsfor pool maintenance

• Experience in implementing and monitoring preventative maintenance programs to ensure a safe and well-maintained hotel

• Knowledge of building maintenance, including minor electrical repair and plumbing

• Ability to speak, write and receive direction (written and verbal direction) in English

• Ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery faults using appropriate testing methods

• Flexibility to be available for emergency repair
