Related Affordable is seeking a Maintenance Technician II to join our team in the Dayton area. The role involves hands‑on maintenance of buildings and grounds, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and routine upkeep to keep spaces safe and inviting for residents.

You will interact with residents, prepare vacant units, inspect systems, and participate in an on‑call rotation for emergency repairs. We offer growth, training, and a supportive team focused on community impact.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in general maintenance or related field.
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Affordable housing experience is a plus.
  • Must participate in emergency on-call rotation.
  • Demonstrates accountability, reliability, and proactive problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure needs are met.
  • Prepare vacant units to occupancy standards within established time frames.
  • Inspect property mechanical systems and grounds, address safety issues with management.
  • Conduct advanced routine maintenance: plumbing, electrical, carpentry.
  • Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Inspect property and address maintenance concerns proactively.
  • Assist in emergency repairs and rotate on-call for emergencies.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and report shortages.
  • Other duties as assigned

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Complete service requests in a timely manner and interact with residents to ensure their needs are met.

  • Conduct advanced routine maintenance tasks, including plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs.
  • Perform cleaning and upkeep of common areas and grounds.
  • Train and mentor junior maintenance staff as needed.
  • Inspect property and address maintenance concerns proactively.
  • Assist in emergency repairs as directed by supervisors and rotate on‑call for emergency maintenance.

ANTICIPATED SALARY RANGE:
  • $21.00-$23.00 /hr.
  • Annual Performance Bonus
  • This position is Non-Exempt, meaning eligible for overtime pay

This range is provided as a general guideline and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including the candidate’s qualifications, geographical location, and the specific responsibilities of the role. In addition to salary, this position may be eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Final compensation offers will be determined following a thorough assessment of the candidate’s background and the requirements of the position.

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

  • Must successfully pass a background check.
