Job summary

Homeward Bound in Dallas, TX is seeking a reliable Maintenance Technician to assist with the upkeep and repair of the facility. You will perform general maintenance, follow safety protocols, and report issues to the supervisor to ensure a safe and functional environment.

The role requires at least 2 years in facility maintenance, High School or GED, a valid driver’s license, and, if you are in a recovery program, at least 1 year sobriety. This is a full-time position with steady hours.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license required.
• Minimum 2 years’ facility maintenance/repair experience.
• If in recovery program, at least 1 year sobriety required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Check maintenance logs daily and perform repairs promptly.
• Ensure lights, fixtures, and exit signage are functioning.
• Maintain safety codes in the facility.
• Keep grounds and building clean and hazard-free.
• Inspect and repair client furniture weekly.
• Check and repair handrails daily.
• Maintain building paint in good repair.
• Store tools and supplies properly each day.
• Support Maintenance Department operations.
• Report repairs to supervisor.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor/Director of Operations

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintenance and repair of equipment as assigned
• Check maintenance logs daily and perform repairs in a timely manner
• Ensure all lights and fixtures are working and have appropriate coverings, including exit signage
• Ensure the physical plant, in general, meets or exceeds safety codes
• Ensure the grounds and building are maintained, clean, neat, and free of physical hazards.
• Check the client’s furniture weekly and repair any defects or damage
• Check and repair handrails daily
• Ensure building paint is in good repair
• Ensure tools and supplies are stored properly each day
• Ensure smooth operation of Maintenance Department
• Ensure any/all repairs are reported to the supervisor
• Any other task assigned by supervisor/Director of Operations

Qualifications

• High School or GED required
• Must have reliable transportation and current driver’s license
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in facility maintenance and repair work
• If in a program of substance recovery, must have at least one (1) year continuous sobriety.
