Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in general maintenance.
• Preferred 5 years in building systems maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, life safety).
• Licenses/Certifications: Texas Class C Drivers License, proof of automobile liability insurance, 30-hour OSHA safety course.

Responsibilities

• Trains lower level maintenance technicians in facilities maintenance skills.

• Performs and trains staff in simple plumbing installations and repairs (faucets, drains, valves).
• Maintains and services pumps, air handlers, and cooling towers; performs oil changes and lubrication.

Overview

The Facilities Maintenance Technician II performs sub-journeyman work in a variety of maintenance, repair, and tasks in one or more craft areas. This role is responsible for make ready duties in offices and clinic areas, maintenance and repair work of painting, carpentry (countertops, doors, framing, drywall), furniture & equipment moving, light plumbing, basic appliance repair/installation, and light electrical. This position requires the ability to work effectively with others and in a team environment as well as independently when needed, while always ensuring compliance with established safety standards and maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Works on multiple facility systems and performs tasks with limited supervision.


• Leads projects, orders supplies, and calls out vendors as needed.


• Utilizes a variety of hand tools and power tools with the ability to train new employees.


• Performs advanced measurements using calipers, transits, meters, and other precise measuring instruments.


• Trains lower level maintenance technicians in facilities maintenance skills.


• Troubleshoots power outages, repairs minor electrical problems, and changes light fixtures.


• Drives company and personal vehicles as needed, including trucks and pick-up trucks.


• Replaces glass in doors and windows and lead projects that relate to glass installation and repairs.


• Performs and trains staff in simple plumbing installations and repairs, i.e. install/repair faucets, unclog drains, replace valves, etc.


• Performs basic service on pumps, air handlers, and cooling towers, such as repacking, changing oil and filters, and lubrication.


• Operates, troubleshoots and repairs door systems to include auto openers, closers, all door hardware, and electric locks.


• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School diploma/GED

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 3 years of experience in General Maintenance such as…Ability to lockout electrical circuits, troubleshoot HVAC systems, millwork skills, and ability to perform lock repair

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• 5 years of experience in Building Systems Maintenance such as HVAC, plumbing, life safety systems

Licenses and Certifications

• Texas Class "C" Driver's License Upon Hire


• Proof of automobile liability insurance coverage on personal vehicle utilized for work related purposes


• 30 Hour OSHA Safety Course Upon Hire
