Under general direction, performs a variety of skilled preventive and general maintenance, repair, construction, and renovation work on facilities and building systems, including on plumbing systems, electrical, mechanical equipment. This is a bargaining unit position. Union dues are required.
The individual must possess knowledge, skills and ability to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the position or be able to explain or demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
High school diploma or equivalent; OR any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Six or more years of trade experience and/or full-time related experience in building and utilities maintenance, including demonstrated experience in plumbing systems and repairs.
Prefer experience in an educational facility. May be required to take a basic hands-on test to demonstrate skills.
Must have a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to the College's automobile insurer. Contractor's licenses or trade school certificates or other related certificates, or willingness to obtain certificates during employment.

Full-time
This is a regular, non-exempt, full-time, staff position working Monday-Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with a 30-minute lunch break. These hours may vary due to needs of the College or department. Must be available to be contacted by telephone during non-working hours and respond to urgent and emergency calls as needed. Must participate in the Campus Facilities on-call rotation with other department managers. May be required to work occasional evenings, weekends and holidays.
