Job summary

The Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to perform skilled general maintenance, repairs, and limited construction at housing facilities and grounds. You will follow work orders, lead small teams, and ensure safe, clean, organized work sites.

This role requires knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and equipment operation; bilingual English/Spanish is desired.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two (2) years of general maintenance, repair or construction experience required.
• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish desired but not required.
• PHAS inspection knowledge desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled maintenance, repair, and limited construction work at housing facilities and grounds.
• Lead small work crews and coordinate tasks under supervision.
• Perform plumbing repairs including water systems, heaters, and drains.
• Perform electrical installation, troubleshooting, and repairs.
• Perform carpentry including doors, windows, drywall, and flooring installations.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools; follow safety procedures and work orders.
