Job summary

Dwelling Place is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to join the Property Management team in Michigan. You will perform repairs, respond to work orders, maintain grounds, and ensure safety systems are functional throughout the property.

This non-exempt role requires a high school diploma or GED and at least two years of related maintenance experience. On-call availability and a valid driver’s license are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two or more years of related maintenance experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.

Responsibilities

• Performs work orders safely and timely, prioritizing emergencies and resident requests.
• Inspects property for repairs and reports unsafe conditions to supervisor.
• Maintains inventory of maintenance supplies and operates equipment properly.
• Keeps work area clean and tools organized.
• Assists in keeping property free of debris and rubbish.
• Knows locations of electric, gas, water shut-offs, meters, and fire systems.
• Shovels snow and applies ice melt; on-call availability as needed.
• Assists management or contractors when requested.
• Maintains property security and proper key control.
