Job summary

Paraco is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support its Waterbury-based production line and related repair activities across refurbishment sites in the region.

The role requires reading machine manuals and schematics, performing mechanical and basic electrical repairs, and carrying out welding, fabrication, and plumbing tasks. A high school diploma or equivalent and vocational training are preferred, with a valid driver’s license advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Trade School, Vocational Training preferred.
  • Mechanical and electrical skills required.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment, HMI and robotics; training provided.
  • Knowledge of LP gas systems a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license preferred; E1 or E2 license a plus.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and perform physical tasks including standing, bending and twisting.
  • Read, interpret and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels and computer consoles.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret machine manuals, blueprints, electrical and air logic schematics.
  • Perform mechanical and basic electrical repairs to troubleshoot and repair production equipment.
  • Provide scheduled and unscheduled repairs of production equipment and plant systems and mobile equipment as needed.
  • Perform welding, fabrication, cutting, lubrication, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, and power transmission equipment repairs.
  • Use plumbing, pipefitting and carpentry to repair facility equipment/systems as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with production staff and management about equipment and system issues.
  • Follow PPE and lockout/tagout procedures.
