Job summary

Virginia Theological Seminary is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to support the repair, maintenance, and upgrading of seminary buildings and grounds onsite. You will work on carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical tasks, perform preventive maintenance, and assist on installation projects as required.

This role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, basic computer skills, and physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds and work from ladders or scaffolds.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced course of study or certifications in carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, or HVAC, desired.

Responsibilities

• Repair plumbing fixtures and piping.
• Perform basic wiring repairs and installations (switches, receptacles, plugs, circuit breakers, fuses, bulbs, ballasts, fixtures).
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment (lubricating, cleaning, servicing motors, pumps, valves, belts).
• Snow removal duties (plowing, shoveling, snowblower, sand/ice melt).
• Move furniture and set up equipment for events; groundskeeping tasks as needed.
