Job summary

Oil-Dri Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic I to perform routine repairs of packaging, processing equipment, and plant structures in our MD facility. The role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and documenting work in CMMS, with emphasis on safety and adherence to SOPs and lockout/tagout procedures.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 2+ years of related technical experience.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years technical degree or electrical/mechanical experience preferred.
• Must effectively use CMMS.

Responsibilities

• Installs, maintains, and repairs plant machinery, equipment, and structures.
• Diagnoses failures and performs repairs.
• Conducts preventative maintenance and testing.
• Follows blueprints, manuals, and lockout/tagout procedures.
• Uses hand tools, power tools, hoist, crane, and testing instruments for repairs.
• Performs plumbing and pipe fitting for water, sewer, air, and gas lines.
• Documents repairs and maintains inventory of tools and parts.
• Performs welding and basic metalworking as needed.
• Maintains shop cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
