Job summary

Colonial Group is seeking a Maintenance Technician I to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair at least two types of machine equipment. The role focuses on reducing downtime through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and process improvements while adhering to safety rules.

The technician will inspect equipment, perform troubleshooting, and participate in maintenance projects, with responsibilities spanning both machine level and facility systems. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in manufacturing equipment repair.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand basic English.
• Must be able to learn and apply work instructions and documents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair manufacturing equipment, processes, and systems on at least two types of machine equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical).
• Perform preventive maintenance including inspecting drives, motors, belts, filters, and lubricating machinery.
• Diagnose malfunctions, disassemble, estimate labor time, source parts, test and release repairs.
• Perform welding, sheet metal work as needed.
• Maintain and repair facility systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry).
• Assist with installation of capital equipment and electrical wiring systems.
• Keep electronic asset management and maintenance records updated.
