Job summary

WinnCompanies is seeking a Maintenance Technician I for Lord Tennyson, a 252-unit affordable housing community in Hayward, CA. You will perform maintenance in rental units, common areas, offices, grounds and parking lots.

The pay range is $22.15-$23.00 per hour, with Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and rotating on-call duty as needed. Candidates should have basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC.
• Excellent customer service and good communication skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs in areas such as appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs per company procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market-ready status.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies as scheduled.

About the Opportunity

WinnCompanies is searching for a Maintenance Technician I to join our team at Lord Tennyson, a 252-unit affordable housing community located in Hayward, CA.

In this role, you will perform maintenance functions in the community, including rental units, residential common areas, office, grounds and parking lots.

The pay range for this role is $22.15-$23.00 per hour. The selected candidate will adhere to the following schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00AM to 5:00PM with rotating on-call duty required as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs in such areas as, but not limited to, appliances, carpentry, hardware accessories, masonry, painting, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and basic HVAC.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs consistent with company operating procedures.
• Assist in preparing vacant apartments for market ready status in accordance with company standards.
• Maintain grounds and curb appeal through snow removal, landscaping, and trash management activities.
• Be available for on-call activity during off-hours and emergencies based on a pre-determined schedule and need.

Requirements:

• Less than 1 year of relevant work experience.
• General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic familiarity with computers and tablets.
• Availability for on-call activity during off hours for urgent needs.
• Ability to speak and understand basic English.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people and personalities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Vocational or technical training.
• Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians (CAMT).
