Job description

Description

Take pride in your work. Make a difference where people live.

**This position is located at The Communities at Beaumont. These are brand new communities!**

A clean building, a welcoming community space, and well-kept grounds can make a meaningful difference in someone’s day. At KCDC, our Maintenance Technician I helps create that experience for the residents who call our communities home.

If you enjoy active, hands-on work and seeing the results of your efforts, this could be a great opportunity to put your attention to detail to work serving the Knoxville community.

Your impact

Working under the direction of a Property Manager or Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll help keep KCDC buildings and grounds clean, orderly, and safe for residents, visitors, and staff. This position focuses on janitorial services, grounds cleanup, and preparing housing units—all essential to maintaining communities people are proud to call home.

What you’ll do
  • Keep community spaces welcoming. Clean lobbies, community halls, offices, restrooms, and other shared areas.
  • Help prepare homes for residents. Clean assigned housing units, remove trash and debris from vacated units, clean appliances, disinfect bathroom fixtures, and prepare surfaces for painting as needed.
  • Make floors and surfaces shine. Sweep, mop, scrub, and vacuum floors; dust furniture and equipment; wash walls, windows, ceilings, woodwork, and fixtures; and apply floor wax or sealers as appropriate.
  • Care for the grounds. Clean walkways, parking lots, and steps daily. Keep hallways, outdoor areas, and garbage collection areas neat and free of accumulated trash.
  • Keep supplies and repair needs on the radar. Notify your supervisor when materials or supplies are needed and report necessary repairs or concerns with building systems.
  • Support daily operations. Assist with locking and unlocking buildings, moving office equipment, and setting up meeting spaces.
  • Pitch in where needed. Complete other assigned duties that support KCDC’s mission and the care of our communities.
Bring pride to the work you do

Success in this role means noticing the details, following through on assignments, and treating residents, coworkers, and visitors with respect. Your work will have a visible impact every day—from a freshly cleaned common area to a home ready for its next resident.

This is a non-supervisory position.
